Asia Trip Day 13: Return to Jiajiang (12/31/17)

What up dog

Fields of bok choy, daikon, peashoots, cabbage, etc.

In the morning, Xuezhu's father drove us back to Jiajiang to visit her paternal grandfather again. After chatting for a while, we left to go visit another landmark of the county. We drove to location, but we needed to walk through the farmlands to reach the destination. The farmland was very old fashioned, with a narrow road that could fit only one car. Therefore, we had to be careful walking around corners, and cars would need to frequently pull over because they would be coming from both directions. Because of the farmlands, stench of manure was very strong in some areas. This was something that reminded of Vermont in spring.

Citron from the source

The landmark we saw was a giant Buddha statue at "Le Shan Da Fo" . We didn't exactly visit it because it was on the other side of the river. We saw tour groups on the other side that were being guided through the stairs in the mountain. But since they were on the Buddha, they wouldn't actually get a good view of it, right? After taking some nice photos, we did some rock throwing. I was able to get a few good bounces in.

We saw a wild short hair cat hanging around the dining area near the mountain

We drove back to her grandfather's house to say goodbye. We then went back to the same pork soup noodle place as before for dinner. Finally, we drove back to her parent's house and arrived around 11:30 pm, just before New Year's. We were 12 hours ahead of EST, so we were technically living in the future. Xin nian kuai le!
